Background​

For the last 16 years, I have been working as a Service Technician in Computer and IT related fields. My job roles have primarily focused on support and repair of computers and multi-function printers.

I have also had over 10 years of practical exposure to Network Infrastructure, Structured Cabling, and Software Troubleshooting.

To further my career, I made the commitment to earn some industry certifications.

With some guidance and mentoring from a few special friends, I was also introduced to LINUX, Servers, and Virtualization. This grew into a fascination with computer science which has led me to running a Home Lab.

 

My appreciation for privacy and security has driven me towards exploring FOSS

(Free and Open-Source Software).

I am trying to keep pace with AI technology, by using ChatGPT and OLLAMA in my home lab.

I am running a trial of Windows Server 2022 and am presently using M365 Business Premium to train myself on Active Directory, Entra, and Intune.​

I have developed a well-rounded set of skills that enable me to successfully engage with business clients in a professional manner. All of the experiences mentioned above, along with my self-paced computer training, has provided me with a solid foundation in computer technology.

While I train and work toward achieving computer and network certifications, I am starting a small business, called SOHOSEC, which will be focused on providing technology and IT solutions to residential and small business clients.
